Hello everyone, I came across this community after seeing it referenced on reddit, and it seems like there are genuine people here rather than whatever goes on over there.

Peptides and glp1 are both new territory for me; I began at 5mg tirz through a telehealth provider, which was fairly rough, so I took things into my own hands and switched, and I'm now at 2mg with reta. Over the past month and a half I've dropped roughly 10 pounds, though the switch caused the loss to slow somewhat. I stand 6' and weigh 240 to start, and my goal is to reach at least 200 while getting some blood stats and blood pressure into better shape.

Welcome! Could you tell me what made Tirz difficult for you? What is your heart rate like on Reta? Because so many people on Reta see a higher HR, particularly during exercise, I'm considering Tirz instead of Reta.

Short version: no titration, plus side effects.

The telehealth I used wrote me a script for 5mg/week. The usual starting point is 2.5mg. Beginning at a therapeutic dose did produce solid weight loss, but the side effects were bad enough that I questioned whether it was worth continuing. I did stick to the standard diet advice: cut back on fat and grease, increase protein and fiber.

Once I looked further into the peptide market, I quit the telehealth out of spite and went with reta. I'm using the commonly suggested 2mg starting dose, and over the next two weeks I'll decide whether to move up to 4mg. Weight is still coming off, though slower as you'd expect at a lower equivalent dose.

My heart rate hasn't risen in any way I can notice so far, but it's still early. From what I've read, that tends to happen at doses of 4mg or more.

Had I begun tirz at the generally recommended 2.5mg/week, or divided the dose, I might have stayed on it. I didn't, so now I'm here trying not to make the same mistakes again.

Welcome!

Starting at 5mg? 😱 My TH began at 1.5 and it took 6 weeks to reach 5mg. If I'd kicked off with that many sides, I figure I probably would have thrown in the towel as well. My wife hit 3mg by week 2 and stayed there — she's down 25lbs. I'm on 9mg at week 19 and have dropped roughly 50lbs. I've held off on Reta, since what I've come across suggests Tirz handles food noise better, and that's one of the things I struggle with. On top of that, my RHR already sits in the mid 70's, so I don't need anything pushing it into the 80's

Appreciate you laying this out. That matches what I've gathered as well. Since I train a lot, I've come across reports that Reta can push your heart rate into a different zone during workouts, which some people find really unpleasant.

To the OP - thanks for telling your story. Seems like you're easing into Reta rather than going hard right away. Wishing you the best, most people I've heard from have had really positive results!

Greetings from WA state

To me, 2mg sounds like a lot to begin with. Since you've got more size on you than we do, and I'm still pretty green aside from doing loads of reading, that may matter. My wife's first dose was 1mg, then she moved up to 2mg. These days she barely has any appetite left. As for me, even 1mg makes eating a struggle, and I'm also trying to train and get 170g of protein in. Ugh.. About to drop down to .5

Anyway, welcome to the forum
