Hey everyone!

I may be a new face on GLP1Chat, but GLP1’s themselves are nothing new to me.

I’m a 20 year old female who has struggled with extra weight for basically as long as I can remember. I always figured it came from how much I ate and my snacking, since I never touched soda and didn’t eat tons of junk. Honestly, even I was surprised by this, but I’ve never once finished a whole bag of chips. I believe my parents’ own weight struggles shaped my habits, and since they never signed me up for sports, I didn’t get much physical activity growing up.

As a kid I was diagnosed with multiple anxiety disorders and an autoimmune disease (which, thankfully, is in remission right now), and that led me to stress eat a LOT. Later on I was diagnosed with endometriosis and had it removed through surgery! I’m beyond grateful to my doctors.

Sadly, around 3 years ago my BMI was very high. My highest was 250 and I’m 5’9. My doctor gave me a wegovy prescription, but my insurance wouldn’t pay for it even though I was prediabetic and had high triglycerides. So I began researching and used compounded sema for a few months, and I got down to 170! My prediabetes reversed and my labs look great. I stayed at the lowest dose and still lost all that weight, and I felt so much better.

After that I took a few months off and got back up to 200, so I restarted on tirz. Once I found out my coworker was getting reta for less than what I paid for my tirz, I figured I’d give it a shot. I’m on the lowest dose from the trials now and I feel great! I’m at 190 at the moment and still losing.

What I really needed, I think, was a push. Something to quiet the food noise and show me visible results. For me, seeing results kept me motivated. I’ve lost weight before through diet and exercise alone, but I never saw it in my body and it took so long that I lost motivation. I never got why, because I can commit to long term things—I mean, I’m doing my undergrad in biomed with a 4.0, so I definitely have the ability, I just think not seeing results is what got me. With my exams, I know my work is paying off because I could see it in my grades. With my weight loss, I didn’t feel the same.

Anyway, long intro, but that’s all I gotta say about me! I mostly joined to do some snooping and read around, I like doing research and interacting more than I like posting. I’m glad to be here tho!

Good to meet you @itsbarbiebitches! That was quite the introduction! I'm not using a glp-1 myself, but my wife does, so I've seen what happens when you pause or drift off track....it's rough. Earlier this year we made a plan to shed weight before a trip. My wife began tirz, while I took on adding a bathroom to our home. Funny enough, we each dropped the same amount across the same stretch of time. The trip came and went. My wife began tapering her dose down, and I quit hauling 2x12 flooring joists and 24x48 tiles up a set of stairs. We figured we'd keep to fruit smoothies at breakfast, lighter lunches and dinners, and cut back on snacking.... well, neither of us is still down 40 lbs...lol.

My wife asked to return to the dose she'd used before the trip, but our FP doctor said pharmacies can no longer compound tirz under fda rules.... which is absurd, since the owner of our pharmacy (a small town one) told us he was compounding with non-domestic tirz regardless. So, yeah, I'm looking into things here too.

I don't believe there's any noob rule stopping me from saying: I went ahead and placed my first order, and it all went smoothly. So now we're officially un-rebounding the rebound. Best of luck with what you're doing!
