Now Y'all Have Messed Up Protein Powder

At first the whey was targeted. I wasn't having any of that, though. Cottage cheese got hit next. Not a single curd was sent my way.

After that, they showed up for me. There was nothing protein-related remaining to consume. Lol

@Grogu and those protein Doritos of theirs? That was the final straw. Nice things are impossible around here.

Whey protein shortage looms as use of weight-loss drugs fuels global demand

Honestly, the sheer scale of what GLPs are shaking up everywhere is kind of insane. Everyone's talking about AI, but GLPs are delivering real-world effects on a comparable level.
Instead, grab a huge carton of eggs. At Costco I pick up 2 packs of 60.

Costco carries solid, clean protein options as well. No artificial sweeteners, no artificial colors, no fillers for me. My preference is roughly 3-4 ingredients: whey, stevia, and whatever the flavor is.

A month back, Costco had 4lbs of Ascent marked down to $38. Levels protein is another one that regularly gets discounted there. TikTok is a good place to catch Levels at strong prices too. Transparent Labs remains the top choice, though it costs more.

Supply of the quality stuff doesn't look broken to me. It's the processed food that's tricking people into believing the junk they've eaten for years is suddenly good for them.
Yesterday at Costco, I'm pretty sure the Ascent set me back $60 🙄😬
Last month it cost $38 lol.

Last month it was $38 lol — roughly every 4 months it goes on sale. Levels does the same thing

There's a sale going on over at muscleandstrength as well. Take a careful look and you'll see they're running 2 for x price deals on the BSN Syntha 6 & Edge options, plus the Allmax + others

True, but that product is junk.

Seems like I'm stuck waiting on that Costco deal to stockpile, since what I grabbed during the last Black Friday is almost gone!

Whey protein is old news — I hit up 3 different shops today, Costco among them, and cottage cheese was completely wiped out everywhere. Apparently cottage cheese is "having a moment" thanks to the GLP-driven push for protein. Not my cottage cheese!!!! Noooooooooo
The fat free Greek yogurt back home is the same deal.

About 20 years back, I recall reading a piece discussing the problem of what to do with the whey left over from making yogurt.

And now we're facing a whey shortage? Indeed, it's gotten to where I'll just purchase actual food instead. I enjoyed how easy protein drinks were, but with what they cost now, they can hold onto them. More left for the rest of you 🥳

I don't have these daily, but Sam's sells them for a little over $2 apiece, and I look at it as covering both my protein and my milk. On top of that, they've got extra vitamins and minerals added, which is a nice plus.

It's frustrating how every new food fad jacks up the price of stuff that used to be affordable...

Keto/Atkins wiped out any savings on Wings

and skirt steak, man, that used to be so cheap, and now it's trendy enough that half the time it's pricier than other steaks.

I stick to eggs and chicken breast for my protein, though I'm not bulking; I really feel for the body builders who have to shell out today's meat prices just to get their 200 grams+ a day

Getting to Sam's takes me roughly 1 hour 20 mins, and Costco is about the same distance but in the opposite direction😕

My daily protein goal is 120g. Occasionally surplus outlets carry things, so I grab whatever they have when I'm there. Nutricost whey used to be my pick — at 40% off it was worth it. I paid around $56 for the 5lbs. Then a couple months back the normal price jumped to double. Honestly, the ready-to-drink singles cost even more. I'd start the day with 2 schools to get a 50g jump on things.

Whey concentrate now runs 100. For a stretch it was out of stock, and once it returned the quality had gone downhill. Gritty — it never used to be gritty. I've still got 15lbs from a stockpile plus 20lbs of casein. That casein, I really can't stand it. Way too thick. It clumps up even when I cut it with some half n half. So I'll make do until it's gone.

What I always keep around: chicken breast tenderloins, chicken drumsticks, ground beef, fish, and parmesan cheese wedges for snacking. Meat gets eaten first, and whatever room is left goes to carbs.

Right now I'm at 1100 calories and 109g protein. The trouble with real food is that I feel full the entire day. I'll probably lower my tirz dose to 3mg — currently on 4mg. A month ago I was at 5mg.

Every day I take a multi vitamin. I'm aware I don't eat enough to cover my nutrient needs.

Joking aside, I came across something saying airlines were (that is, before prices shot back up) raking in bigger profits from spending less on fuel, since a lot of Americans dropped weight with GLPs.
That's hilarious
