Hey all, are there any Star Wars enthusiasts here? Since the Mandalorian & Grogu movie is on the way, I figured I’d check whether any other fans are hanging around.

I arrived a little after the original trilogy, though I’ve been gathering Star Wars action figures since 1995 and came of age with the Special Editions and Prequels. Even with their shortcomings, they mean a lot to me.

Yeah, been collecting since 1977 and still a fan. Wish I had stashed away more of the mint packaged stuff. Getting 12 backs at retail for $30.

My oldest cousin is roughly 15 years my senior, and he had gathered nearly every original vehicle and figure, including duplicates so a few could stay mint on their cards.

Sadly, during the late 80s/early 90s, his whole collection was taken when someone broke into the storage unit where my cousin kept it. In his view, the culprit either knew him well enough to be aware the collection was there, or had heard about it from someone who mentioned it around others, and those others then stole it. The police never recovered it. I think doing something like that is simpler these days than it was back then.
 
Went to see The Mandalorian & Grogu over the weekend. Honestly, it delivered just what I expected: an enjoyable, low-stakes romp centered on those 2 title characters. One thing I really liked was how many aliens and creatures showed up, which sets it apart from much of the Disney-era SW output. By contrast, that was a weak point of Andor for me—it often came across as taking place anywhere, rather than feeling like Star Wars.
 
At the theater near me, I just saw Disclosure Day, Spielberg’s latest UFO movie. It’s just as enjoyable as Close Encounters and ET, the Extra-Terrestrial, which he made before. If it were showing on Cine-Max, I’d watch it a second time.
