Just completed one more transaction through Trust Wallet (using Moonpay), and once more the specifics ate into what I got. To put it briefly: there is a network fee, a moonpay fee, and a Trust fee. All of that gets subtracted from the total, and it is not inexpensive. After that, in my situation, you end up holding some Solana but what you actually need is USDC. Swap into USDC and lose still more. Then, if luck is not on your side as it was not on mine, you discover the amount is insufficient, so you have to repeat the whole cycle -> meaning buy once more and convert once more. After that you send it, and I find I must tack $.05 onto the USDC total so it does not fall short, plus 'gas.'

I figure I can get better at anticipating the Moonpay and Trust fees (the network fee stays flat), which would let me skip that second purchase, but it is hard not to notice that this one buy cost me over $25 in fees. I would not call that awful, but I would not call it good either. It has me seriously reconsidering my crypto buying option NDAX, which I have mostly left un-investigated. Trust was the app I managed to get working first, so NDAX just sat there, read but not acted on.

Maybe I have simply done this often enough now that the smaller details are standing out. Does anyone here have firsthand experience with Trust and/or NDAX?

Did you go through the pinned-post guide located at the top of this forum's Crypto Corner section? It involves multiple steps, and you're still stuck estimating how much gets eaten by fees, which is annoying, but among the cheapest and safest approaches it ranks.

Great guide, for anyone who can use PayPal. We used it for years, until payments started failing, and then it stopped working altogether. That seems to be a common story in Canada, especially if you bank with a credit union.
