Hi all. An introduction, and my reasoning behind starting retatrutide.

A researcher's perspective is where I come from. Well characterized are the cardiometabolic risks that carrying excess weight over a sustained period brings, and they compound over time. The cost of inaction is therefore not neutral, in my opinion.

On the other side sits the clinical trial data for retatrutide, which has shown meaningful reductions in weight, HbA1c, and several cardiovascular risk markers. Compared to existing options, the triple agonist mechanism appears to offer a differentiated risk-benefit profile (in my opinion). That uncertainty is recognized, but the known risks of doing nothing outweigh the current unknowns of treatment, as far as I'm concerned.
