Began on Wegovy pens at 4x 0.25mg — super straightforward and effective, though insurance wouldn't cover it. After that, I moved to Reta 1mg stacked with 0.25mg wegovy (taken on separate days). At this point I'm on Reta 2mg exclusively, planning to hold at 2mg for another week, then step up to 4mg/wk for a month, then 8mg/wk until progress plateaus. After that, possibly 12mg/wk for maintenance.

I picked up some cagri to address the leptin issue and metabolic adaptation. That part worries me a lot, since I'm running a steep calorie deficit (roughly 1200 kcal daily, with TDEE estimated around 2500-2800ish). Haven't begun it yet — still working out the details.

I'm considering other approaches for metabolic adaptation and raising TDEE, but I tend to be cautious and only want things backed by thorough research.

Hello everyone, I've just begun using Reta. I've been reading up on metabolic priming, which appears to work in the opposite way of metabolic adaptation—the process that reduces your basal metabolism. [[Q1]] It means gradually raising calorie intake, putting an emphasis on high protein, and doing intense resistance training. The idea is to shift your metabolism from a sluggish state to a highly active one by priming it. Because you're consuming more calories, protein, and carbohydrates, you gain muscle more quickly, and this amplifies the fat you lose, while your basal metabolism operates at an ideal level—leading to maximum fat loss alongside muscle gain. That's how I understand it, and there are studies supporting it. I may not explain it perfectly, but if you haven't checked it out yet, you should take a look.
