It took a lot of going back and forth with myself, but I finally ordered a first vial of Reta from a one-off merchant and have just wrapped week one. The hunger suppression floored me, and the food noise dropped to nearly zero (a grazer and emotional eater is what I am, and a "see-food" diet has largely been my life). Dose two is in, and I can see that finding a dependable source is essential if this is going to run smoothly. Back to reddit I went, where my earliest reading happened, and a bit more digging pointed me here as the best spot for "knowledge transfer". Learning, and shedding the extra pounds that have been dragging on me, is what I'm after.
Some background on how my body composition has moved:
Male, standing 5"10ish inches — 5'11" when I'm feeling generous
•Before covid I sat at app 300lbs. Being a former highschool athlete, hauling that much around felt wrong, particularly with activity levels nowhere near what they'd been.
•Covid handed me far more free time. I shifted into a fasting-focused way of living and dragged the free weight set out of my garage. Down to 190lbs I pushed myself, holding onto a fair amount of the muscle and strength I'd built
•Then, bit by bit — work/life balance, late nights, fast food, injuries and wrong turns — I drifted back up to 290lbs and recognised something had to give. Cardio and weights are still part of my week, but extended fasts simply don't fit alongside what my jobs physically ask of me.
I'm confident I've come to the right place,
