Hi everyone, after reading along on this forum for quite some time, I finally signed up so I could join in on discussions.

Being overweight has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and now that I've reached the age where my spouse and I are thinking about having children, I want to get into the best shape possible before pregnancy and parenting.

Three years back I underwent gastric bypass, which took off roughly 100lb. There's still more to lose, and for the past week I've been using semaglutide/b12. So far, my appetite for food has just dropped.

I'm eager to keep reading and to connect with others in similar situations.

Semaglutide wasn't something I went with. From what I've gathered through people I know and also folks on here, though, it tends to be a weaker choice. The side effect burden is too high. Look into Tirz and Reta, and put them side by side. This place has plenty of material on both. Either run a search or head to the forums, find each one, and read everything you can. Once you've built up some background, your questions will get far better answers.

Thanks a lot for the guidance!! I've barely looked into the other choices so far, and reta specifically keeps coming up with really positive feedback. Grateful for it !

How would the delayed stomach emptying combine with the mechanical limits created by a bypass? I'm curious whether you've experienced any effects such as extreme satiety or gastroparesis?

I just came across a person who had dropped a lot of weight through bypass surgery and is now on a glp1. That caught me off guard — I never thought bypass patients could do that.

Not at this point. About a year following my bypass, I ran into issues with that and got a metoclopramide prescription that appeared to do the trick. It gradually resolved, though I suspect sadly that my pouch has stretched
