I'm just beginning to educate myself on this topic, and my goal is self-improvement. I appreciate everything I've read here up to now.

I'm a 53 year old guy doing my best to keep my body in decent condition. My job takes up far too much of my time, and stress plus cortisol have left me carrying a lot of visceral fat. Tesa w/Ipa is something I'm considering, since my IGF-1 z score came back at -0.9. At the moment I'm 3 weeks into reta and have dropped roughly 5 lbs, going from 170 to 165. My build is a little skinny fat — there's some muscle tone, but my gut is the part that really shows.

It's wild what stress can do. During a rough 2 week stretch I barely ate much, yet I put on 6 pounds!! Thankfully they r gone now, but stress was the only explanation I could come up with- nothing else was different. Wishing you luck with Reta. I began tirz, but since I'm post menopause I'm worried about losing muscle, so once I gather more info/hear more opinions I may think about making the switch

That's a worry I share as well. Still, I make sure to get my protein in and do weight training 3x per week so it stays minimal.

might sound odd, but once I got hurt I picked up a TENS unit with NMES capability, so alongside my biking and walking, I stick it on my quad in the evening while watching tv and that leg muscle is still a tiny baby back B.. Super annoying, yet I still cant fully LOAD my knee, so the muscle simply isnt returning the way I hoped. I def need MORE protein. Aging sucks!
