Mid-afternoon slump

I'm only in week 4 of Tirz, and even at this starter dose the response has been shockingly quick and strong. A couple of kilos have come off without much effort.

One thing that's working against me: by the time mid afternoon rolls around, I'm hit with serious fatigue and headaches.

I log everything I eat, and protein plus fat intake looks solid. So my guess is carbs are the missing piece — but I genuinely can't handle eating much more. Food noise isn't what it used to be, and I don't get the same pleasure from eating either (honestly a relief, since it used to control my life in a way that wasn't healthy). Today I attempted to sneak extra carbs into my lunch, yet the fogginess, grogginess and tiredness stuck around, so it obviously wasn't sufficient.

Any suggestions for getting more carbs in without it turning into a total chore?

When I began tirzepatide, headaches showed up, and for several weeks nothing I tried made much difference. In the end I gave tramadol a go, and the headaches disappeared entirely — they haven't returned since. So if something stronger than what you can get OTC is available to you, that could be worth a shot. Tirz didn't bring me any fatigue, though cagri does, which lines up with what you're going through.

As for carbs, I spent a long time avoiding them completely. The change came when I started seeing a nutritionist, who had me bring them back in slowly. These days some carbs are fine for me, provided I stick to complex ones. Take today: I'm eating chicken tenders alongside corn and coleslaw. Honey mustard or sweet chili sauce goes on it, and each adds a bit, but my progress stays on track.

Hope you're feeling better soon, and congrats on your progress! 💪

Tramadol is always a good time, so I'm not going to turn down that suggestion! I'm fairly sure there's some left over from when my back acted up before, so I'll go hunting for it.

Today's lunch salad got corn mixed in — honestly, I could have thrown in a lot more. My default dressing is olive oil (check the flag on my profile!) but perhaps it's time to widen my horizons and make things a bit more interesting. Appreciate it!

Yeah, I noticed your country's flag — for me it's the best spot in Europe — and I was about to joke about carbs, since every time I'm in Italy I get the feeling I'm overdoing it on carbs, so it caught me off guard that you couldn't find carbs easily.

Earlier this month I spent roughly 10 days in Rome and Florence. I've also got two trips lined up for next summer. On this latest trip, I honestly can't recall one protein item I had 🤣. Bistecca alla Fiorentina is off the table for me since it's too rare. And when I'm in Rome, pizza al taglio, suppli and gelato are my weakness — I could survive on those alone and never touch meat.

Those Italian carbs are exactly what pushed me toward Tirz! At the moment that romance is paused, though I'm hoping we get back together before long.

Glad you enjoyed your stay here. Should you find yourself in the country once more, message me and I'll point you to a sandwich spot in Pisa. I've got one in mind 😎

During my initial month or so of Tirz, the early afternoon dip was genuinely less of a problem for me. My guess is that it came down to no longer stuffing myself at lunch, which in turn kept me away from that spike-then-crash blood sugar loop. Once I was deeper into a sustained weight cut, though, that sleepy feeling in the afternoon crept back in. To be honest, I still don't have a solid fix for it. The only thing that helps is more caffeine near lunch (and no, carbs aren't the culprit in my case, lol). I've gone ahead and ordered Semax / Selank, and I'll be trying it out soon.

From what I've experienced, the quickest solution is simple carbs (assuming you're sure carbs are the problem..). Grab a good cookie or a slice of cake (if the carb quality doesn't bother you) or whatever sweet, carby treat you like.

Those definitely aren't a struggle to get down, even while on a GLP! 😀

That's the reason a lot of folks begin supplementing with NAD+ while taking GLPs, as a way to fight off the tiredness.

Before going that route, though, get your nutrition and micronutrients sorted out.

Speaking from my own experience, this made a real difference: https://drstanfield.com/products/mi...uKaDhQYgHsEkoY5j3vE4AJi4AlIYqwwmqHV79FNh2nggT

I've also checked into this and it was noted down for me, but I was more inclined toward a precursor, probably NR.

For plenty of people, precursors do the job and are definitely the simpler option. In my case, though, they made no difference at all — NAD+ is what actually gave me results. That said, I'm with you: if someone wants to raise NAD, the sensible first step is giving the precursors a try.

I'd love to hear updates on your experience with Semax/Selank. Keep me posted!

Would an OTC supplement be sufficient for NAD+, in your opinion? I'd rather not introduce more injections right now since I'm still getting used to the Tirz, but I do want to stop feeling so awful as soon as possible!

After several weeks of taking NR, my energy levels in the afternoon have improved.

Appreciate it! I'll check that out!

Week three now, bumped to 3.5mg and feeling no different, so lets see whether NAD+ helps, it's on the way. BTW carbs def help.

Went straight to NAD+, will find out whether it does anything, should arrive in the next few days

Update, third NAD+ shot, 50mg each. Def helps during the day, but any kind of sport and ahaha ciao ciao. End up feeling like a shit in 0.2
