Hey everyone, just dropping a quick intro. My main interest here is using low-dose GLP-1 and similar agonist peptides as a tool to keep satiety signals going. The specific challenge I want to overcome is making it easier to eat only when my blood glucose reads <=90mg/dL. I've been injecting 2mg reta once a week for a bit less than 2 months. So far I've lost roughly 7 kilos, starting from a base weight of 75. My BMI is sitting at 21.5 right now. It looks like the effects have hit a plateau, and I'm getting some mild side effects: brain fog (5/10), fatigue (6/10), lower dexterity (4/10), and dry eyes plus mild vision loss[honestly can't put this into proper scientific terms. it mostly shows up when I'm reading, focusing on the words feels more difficult, my eyes are noticeably drier, and there's an increase in light sensitivity](5/10).

Anyway, that's about it

A brief update: I'm going to take a break from the cycle for 3 weeks, since I'm mostly satisfied with my current state, and I'm also managing a mild yet annoying problem with dry eyes during sleep. It might also assist with re-sensitization? I felt like I had somewhat hit a plateau at 2mg and saw no reason to increase the dose. I'll likely take 500mg metformin as needed to help control appetite.

Useful update. I figured it would be helpful to share my lab results from before and after running reta.

Worth mentioning: these are both professional labs, but they came from different hospitals, so there could be variation in how the testing was done.

Below are the biggest differences. Other parts of the panel didn't show statistically significant changes.

Reta 2mg q.wk. CMP w/ eGFR1/15/263/18/26Alanine transaminase [U/L]1041Blood Urea Nitrogen [MG/DL]2013Total Bilirubin [MG/DL]0.40.9Aspartate aminotransferase [U/L]1425

I don't have a lipid panel from before, though I managed to get one this time around.

  • LDL-C 104 mg/dl
  • HDL 48 mg/dl
  • TRIG 46 mg/dl
  • CHOL 164 mg/dl
  • NONHDLC 114 mg/dl
Even though a few of these values look concerning, I know that when HDL is on the low side, certain tests can report LDL as abnormally high. Either way, my TRI/HDL ratio is fairly optimal, sitting under 1 at the moment.
