Hey everyone! After what felt like forever, I’ve at last made my way to this spot — lol. I know it sounds a bit sappy, but after reading the New Member section, I’m genuinely excited to become part of this warm, caring group and to join in.
A quick rundown on me: I teach elementary school, and this school year marks my 15th year doing it. I’m married and have three kids — they are 21, 17, and nearly 8 years old. Reading fantasy is something I absolutely adore. More recently, I’ve gotten into doing my own nails at home, and it’s turned into a real passion for me. I also just began an exercise class where I fly through the air, thanks to bungee cords hooked to the ceiling. Honestly, it’s a lot of fun and suits my style of working out. If you knew me, you’d know that my usual “workout” is just all the walking I do on a typical day, since I don’t actually work out, lol.
What I’m hoping for is to carve out my own spot in this new and thrilling community, and also a space where I can verify my own research and such while digging through older posts. I’m relatively new here in the sense that I’ve been taking a GLP-1 prescribed medication for close to three years now. Not long ago, I made the switch from that to a retatrutide medication instead (since “GLP-3” doesn’t actually exist).
One good thing from my weight loss journey is that I’ve finally gotten back to my pre-baby weight size! Whoop whoop!
Another good thing: last week my doctor officially took me off my high-blood pressure medicine! Eek! So excited! I had actually been having episodes where my vision would go black the moment I stood up from sitting or crouching. It was frightening, but there have been no episodes since I stopped my bp meds. Thank goodness!
Anyway, I hope I’ll be welcomed, and I can’t wait to begin learning and talking with all of you!
