hello everyone,

I've been dealing with my weight for a long time. A few years ago I made some major lifestyle changes; high-protein, very low-carb eating, intermittent fasting, calorie tracking, and regular exercise. It worked well, and I lost a significant amount of weight.

The problem wasn't losing it. The problem was keeping it off.

I was able to maintain that loss for quite a while, but it always felt like I was fighting hunger. As long as I stayed in a very structured routine and kept my protein intake extremely high, things were manageable. Once I tried to transition into something that felt more like a normal long-term lifestyle, the hunger gradually crept back in. That led to more snacking, larger portions, and eventually weight regain. Life getting busier (including a young family) certainly didn't help.

Rather than getting discouraged, I've decided to tackle it again. I've made good progress through diet and exercise, but this time I'm trying to think beyond simply reaching a goal weight. I'm much more interested in solving the maintenance problem than the weight-loss problem.

That's what brought me here. I'm interested in learning more about GLP-1s and related peptides, particularly how they might fit into a sustainable long-term strategy for appetite regulation after the weight-loss phase is over. I'm someone who likes to understand the science behind things, so I'm looking forward to learning from people with both research experience and real-world experience.

I'm looking forward to reading through the discussions, learning from everyone here, and hopefully contributing where I can.

Thanks for having me!

ive been reading here for a few days and I am learning SO much!!! Im on a compounded TZ and have lost a few lbs, but Im interested in other peptides too for aging brain, bones, skin etc. I think you will learn a lot here too!

From my personal experience the Reta is a lot less strong and the appetite suppression than when I was on Zepbound/Monjourno. It's definitely there though

I have tried previously to cut a lot of weight using calorie restriction, exercising excessively, and intermittent fasting. All of it seemed to do nothing for me, mainly due to me eventually giving in to the food noise. I finally got on board this year with starting tirzepatide, and it is crazy to me that I don't constantly crave food. In fact, I think I consciously think about food more because I think about how normally I would be thinking about eating. Tirzepatide has truly been a key to success for me. I'll probably eventually switch to reta, but I'm worried about the reports of less food noise/apetite supression.

Welcome to the forum!

I hope you'll share how it goes, because while I'm way behind you in that I still need to work on getting some weight off, seeing how people are able to deal with keeping it off and having their lifestyle fit their needs still feels like a big unknown to me
