Tirz has been part of my life since 2020, starting when I joined a medical weight-loss study near where I live. It ran a year and a half, and participants could end up on a dose that titrated upward over time, a steady low dose, or a placebo. Driving to that first appointment I passed a Culver's, and told myself cheese curds were happening on the way back. After the appointment and the first injection, whatever I'd been given was a mystery to me. Then, approaching the same Culver's on the return trip, it became obvious I'd gotten the real deal. Not the slightest interest in cheese curds. Honestly, thinking about them turned my stomach!

Side effects from the meds: none at all. That holds true to this day — the only thing that ever shows up is occasional constipation when I don't drink enough. Living the way I'd always pictured a normal person living, with that irritating food noise gone from my head, was soooooo nice. About 45 lbs came off during the study.

Once the study wrapped up, a local doctor wrote me a Mounjaro prescription. $40 a month in co-pay, entirely manageable. A few more years went by and my insurance disappeared. A friend who couldn't tolerate the stuff — the gastric side effects were brutal for him — became my source; I covered his co-pay. To stretch what I could accumulate, injections moved to every other week. Eventually he dropped the prescription since he wasn't losing anything (obviously). Then the fridge stockpile ran dry, and continuing this way of life required a new route.

Google and Reddit and the lab-rat world came next, and everything after that is history. Curiosity alone brought me to this forum. It looks like a good spot to keep learning, keep growing, and carry on my normal way of life alongside people whose experiences overlap with mine.
