Male, past 50, weight has been a battle for as long as I can remember, but my new GP recently laid it out plainly: there are 2 paths, and 1 of them is very short. I'm morbidly obese, prediabetic, and my lower back and knees are wrecked. In the past 3 months I've dropped 30 pounds — 15 prior to tirzepatide and 15 after. There are still well over 130 pounds left to lose. With the political noise lately, I figured it was wise to educate myself on alternative sourcing, what using those sources actually entails, and to hear from people further along this road about what to expect. I'm already aware that surgery will eventually be needed for the excess skin, but any tips or experiences on limiting that would be welcome. My plan is to gradually increase the tir titration until it stops producing weight loss, then switch to ret. Beyond that . . . well, I can see there are other, even more potent GLP-1 analogs in development. Who knows what will be available in 18 months? And the oral maintenance options on the way! This is a hot research area.

This community strikes me as genuinely open-armed toward driven researchers like us!

From what you describe, your choice came at the right moment - you are not yet fully diabetic, nor so far gone that real improvements are out of reach.

The speed at which this area moves forward is exactly as you say - oral forms, microdosing, plus the surprising upsides these medications bring.

May your quest for 'the knowledge' keep going well!
