Hello! I'm a 62-year-old man living in the beach towns of Southern California. Health and fitness matter a lot to me, and I believe a comeback is possible at any age.
Not long ago, my situation was far different from what I would have predicted. Injuries piled up, I went through many surgeries, dealt with ongoing pain, slept badly, and in 2023 I was diagnosed with throat cancer (I'm cancer-free now, thankfully). My health declined, and my weight reached roughly 270 pounds.
At the start of this year, I made a decision: no more excuses, time to rebuild. I've named this effort "Wrecked to Recomp."
These days I weigh about 215 pounds and train 5-6 days each week, concentrating on strength, recovery, body composition, and aging well. Peptide therapies are now part of my broader health plan, and the gains I've noticed in recovery, energy, inflammation, and overall quality of life have been encouraging.
My reason for joining this forum is to learn from those with deeper experience, share my own path, and connect with people who care about health and longevity. Reading alone has already taught me plenty, and I'm eager to add whatever I can.
Thanks for the welcome, and I'm glad to meet everyone.
