Hi everybody,

Living out in central Illinois, I'm a guy in my mid-40s working to get my health back under control. A few years back the job I'd dreamed about finally came through. Professionally I'd arrived somewhere I genuinely loved. You know the line — do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life. The healthcare my employer offered was excellent. I was in great shape.

March/April 2024 had me sitting at about 200 pounds. I began training at least 5x a day and cleaned up my eating. My wife and I felt great and looked it. The scale came down to about 175 and visible muscle was going on.

Then, put it this way, "change in management" happened. A career change was forced on me. The outfit I work for now is awful. Every part of it. The healthcare included. Last winter did a number on me and wiped out everything I'd built. I'm over 200 pounds again, worn out by the workload, the long hours, the long commute and a work/life balance that doesn't exist.

Weight loss medications came up with my primary care physician, who prescribed a tirz medication. Well, dealing with my insurance and prescription providers taught me that while my insurance does cover that category of medication, my employer doesn't pay into it and has opted out of that coverage. Disheartening is putting it mildly. My mid-40s have landed hard and that extra help was exactly what I needed to get going again. Since the career change came out of nowhere, there's almost no time left for exercise. Whatever spare time I get goes to my wife and kids.

So here I am. Luckily, one of the very few decent people at my current employer pointed me at this forum and I'm glad he did. Many of your posts have already been read by me. The rules and such have been gone through, and I'm genuinely looking forward to being part of this community. Beginning Reta, MOTS-C, and Semax treatments is what interests me and a lot of research has gone into it. Moving into the realm of Ipa and Tesa interests me too. Getting to know all of you and learning more is something I look forward to. Hearing back from you all can't come soon enough! Have a wonderful day, all, and talk to you soon!
