I don't think it is permitted to make any research on animals, unless they are mice or rats. Are they?

Yes, many do. And there are now companies marketing specifically to pet owners in the mainstream now as they know we’ll do anything for and spend billions collectively on our pets.

I don’t think you can DM yet if I remember the restrictions correctly, but I compiled a list of resources and anecdotal reports that I gathered while I was looking for more info. I’d be happy to send it to you when you promote. I don’t think including it here is best as it’s probably worthy of its own discussion outside of the intro posts category.

But just to give you a starting point: BPC, TB4, and KPV are very common. Some have tried bioregulators as well. Here is an allometric calculator you can start with. You basically decide what human dose you’d take for a med, enter the pet’s details, and it converts it to the equivalent canine or feline dosage. This works for any med (like Benadryl, for example).
