Hi , 58yo male, lifelong obesity , I have managed to diet my way to normal or near normal weights several times in the past but was never able to stay there for long , longest ever being 2-3 years. For about a year now it has been Tirzepatide 15mg plus Retatrutide 5mg, and more recently cagrilintide at 0.5mg/w. I started at 145kg in 2022 and lost 70 kg on a high protein low calorific density diet, then held the weight off for a year or so with more or less constant hunger. Prescribed Ozempic in 2024, but anything above 0.5mg brought nausea and malaise I could not tolerate, so I ended up on 0.22mg/2days for a year. It helped a bit with hunger, yet I was both hungry and nauseous much of the time. Moving to tirzepatide meant far fewer side effects, and finding the cheap Chinese versions helped, but I was still a bit hungry so reta went in. Weight has drifted down over the past year to 64kg now, bmi 23, 56% down.

I am a big fan of GLP drugs, not so much the other peptides. To me GLPs are more or less lifesaving, and I seem to have arrived at a dose that holds my weight steady while letting me eat when hungry, without gaining a kilo a week the way I once would. I'm still careful about unhealthy food, but for the first time in my life I fill up easily and don't always want to finish the bar of chocolate once I've had a little, which is a new and amazing experience.
