Hey everyone, it's great to be here with all of you, writing in from the UK!

Lately I've had a hard time keeping my weight in check, so I'm hoping to pick up some tips on getting a bit of assistance from this wonderful community. I cycle a lot and do plenty of exercise, but my build isn't exactly what you'd call "cyclist shaped," and I'd really like to fix that! The trouble is, it feels like the more I work out, the more the food noise ramps up 🙁 I'm keen to figure out the best way to shed fat while holding onto the small amount of muscle and performance I have, and I'm hoping the knowledgeable people here can point me in the right direction!

So that's a bit about me — see you around!

welcome!! i've had the very same experience, exercise just makes me hungrier and i eat back the calories i've felt i "earned" :< same boat as you for wanting to maintain my little muscle 🙂 we've got this!

Haha, I get that! To grow you've got to eat, but the things I actually eat don't build anything steadily except my belly!

Welcome!

You are far from the only one in this situation. Plenty of folks who put in serious training hours — particularly in endurance-heavy disciplines such as cycling — discover that adding more exercise only drives hunger up, which makes dropping fat even tougher. That can feel maddening, yet it happens all the time.

Given that you already come in with a solid foundation of activity, the real hurdle likely isn't piling on extra work. Instead, it's probably about keeping appetite, recovery, and nutrition in check so you can shed fat while holding onto as much muscle and performance as possible. This community is full of people who know their stuff, so you've landed somewhere great to pick things up!
