Hello,

A woman in her 40's, in the United States.

Not weight loss but rather reducing inflammation is my primary reason for taking a GLP-1 RA - a genetic condition where neuroinflammation damage is a huge part of the picture is what I have. Research that looks promising on GLP-1's and how the inflammation gets reduced is what I've seen, and although most people take it for other reasons, as I'm aware, the big driver for me is that.

Supporting nicotine cessation is the secondary reason; again, some promising effects have been noted with GLP 1's and addictive substances like alcohol and nicotine. Drinking isn't really my thing, but quitting nicotine has been near impossible for me.

Related, and third, is admittedly maintenance of a lean physique being supported. A goal of weight loss it is not, but making maintenance more tolerable and reducing food noise when stress, the menstrual cycle, etc come along is. Happy is what I am with my physique where it's at (weight training gets the thanks) yet holding it there the "old fashioned way" sometimes feels like a hard-mode game. This girl can EAT.

Monday is when my first dose of reta starts, and drawn prior to the first dose were my fasting insulin, A1C, and CRP, so there'd be something of a baseline for inflammation and insulin sensitivity (no results yet). Tracked as well will be any fluctuations in weight and resting heart rate. Learning about other peptides that cognitive health and neuroinflammation might benefit from interests me, so TBD on whether anything else gets added.

Even only with one very small dose and a few days behind me, almost immediate effects on food noise and nicotine cravings have been noticed, I have to admit (still using, just less urgency). Mild GI symptoms and early satiety are the only downside so far, which is to be expected. My target 110 grams of protein and around 2000-2200 Calories a day were still fittable over the past couple of days. 5000+ Calories just didn't feel like something I COULD eat is all.

Dose of reta: 0.5 mg

Doses per week: 1

Change in weight: ∆-0.4# (the goal being maintenance)

Resting heart rate, averaged over the past month: vs. baseline 54 bpm

A1C at baseline: vs. baseline tbd

Fasting insulin at baseline: vs. baseline tbd

CRP at baseline: vs. baseline tbd
