Fresh face checking in. My main goal right now is gathering details about Reta so I can add it alongside the eating plan I've already got going in order to drop a few pounds.
I'm a guy in my 40s with a lot of muscle, and I've mostly been doing heavy weight training from around age 18 onward. These days, though, being in my 40s means I can see the midsection fat creeping up, and I figure I need to drop somewhere around 20-30 lbs. The real kicker with carrying so much muscle is that any fat you put on makes you look twice as fat, and that is genuinely awful!
So I've been running a calorie counting diet, taking in only somewhere between 1700 - 1900 calories each day. It isn't always the cleanest way of eating, but I stay away from ALL sweets and have zero cravings for them. That means the calories I do take in come from real food. Right now I'm not paying much attention to macros, though I'm sure as time goes on I'll begin experimenting with them more. For the moment, I'm just capping my intake by total calories.
I'm giving serious thought to RETA, at minimum to find out where it gets me while I'm already on this path.
Thanks.
