Hey all! I live in Texas. My PCP is the one who first showed me what peptides can do — they were offering compounded GLP-1s as a weight loss option. My weight had been a problem (my whole life I'd bounced between obese and overweight), and even though it cost a LOT, I went ahead and joined the GLP-1 program... and my life is different now! I figured I'd NEVER reach a 'normal' weight, and that meant a normal life was off the table too... Yet here I basically am! The program is behind me now since the pricing is just way too much, but peptides keep coming up more and more, and I want to learn 1) how to keep going with my GLP in a way that's safe and affordable for me (lol), and 2) what other options exist, both for me and for my parents — I want them to stay healthy and feel good for as long as they can

Glad you're here. It says a lot that you'd step up for your folks while plenty would sooner dump theirs in a care home. Though I know that's sometimes the only option.

That's great that your PCP was on board with compounding! My own doctor was strongly opposed. Best of luck as you look into everything!

Plenty of functional medicine doctors strike me as having an open mind.

With a PCP, that same openness is far less common.
