Hey everyone,

I'm a newcomer when it comes to GLP1s. I began Retatrutide on 1/06/2026, and after wading through all the junk posts on Reddit, stumbling onto this community packed with so many regularly posting members was a relief.

Up to now, I've skipped any weigh-ins or before/after photos (because I put on some pounds following more than a year of intermittent fasting plus keto). I plan to do a real check-in once week 5 starts (hoping that makes stepping on the scale and taking measurements less jarring).

My dose to begin with is 2.5mg, injected once every 6 days, and I'll stick with that through the first 4 weeks. Should I find that I'm not plateauing, I'll probably keep at that level prior to titrating upward. I kicked things off with a 72hr fast as well, and on weekdays I've been doing OMAD intermittent fasting (20:4/22:2).

I'd love to link up with others who are pairing IF with their glp1 - if you're looking for a fasting buddy: hit me up!

Welcome aboard, yerf. Results can take a while for some people to show up. Each person reacts in their own way. You might turn out to be a super responder, but there's no need to rush things. Eating well matters a lot. Begin with a slow, low approach. Keep an eye on what your body is telling you. Raise the dosage only when it's necessary. Keep an eye out for side-effects...

Week 3 has just begun for me. Aside from trouble sleeping, I haven't noticed any side effects worth mentioning — though in my line of work, that's fairly typical 😂

Welcome aboard. Funny thing—back when I wasn't on reta, long fasts were doable for me. Once reta entered the picture, that ability vanished. I'd cruise through the daytime hours without issue, but come night, sleep wouldn't happen and my mind would fixate on eating until I finally caved just to get some rest, ha. Could it be that reta lowers glucose?

In the past, intermittent fasting was something I could never manage (from what I understand, women tend to run into this issue more often) since it left me feeling light headed. Oddly enough, while on Tirzepatide, that issue has disappeared for me. Now I have no trouble sticking to an 8 hour eating window, fitting two meals inside it, and drinking nothing but water the rest of the time!

Welcome! 👋 This is a solid spot to end up — compared to Reddit, the signal-to-noise ratio here is much better.

Overall, your plan sounds quite thoughtful. If you know early weigh-ins will get in your head, skipping them is logical, and a baseline at week 4/5 is far more useful emotionally in any case. The 2.5 mg every 6 days is also a sensible place to start, particularly when you're tolerating it well — there's no need to hurry titration if appetite control and energy are where you want them.

It's also nice to see someone deliberately combining Reta with IF. On GLP-1s, many people wind up fasting unintentionally, but choosing it on purpose (and tweaking according to recovery and stress) tends to work better over the long term. Just watch out for fatigue and electrolytes, especially during longer fasts early on.

I'm looking forward to your week-5 check-in. And yes — having accountability buddies around here is always a plus. 👍
