Hello all! Figured it was time to say hi.
Male, early 40s, and my starting point on GLP-1 was 254 lb. These days I sit at roughly 196 lb, which works out at a bit under 60 lb gone. The bulk of that came off fast across may 2025 to October 2025, and since then the scale has basically stayed put apart from the odd pound or two.
Weights have been part of my life on and off for more than 10 years, so the gym is nothing new to me. Macros, nutrition and how to train are all things I get. About 7 years back I actually shifted a comparable amount with a PT and some solid nutrition coaching behind me. Knowing the right moves was never the issue. What trips me up is keeping it going once life gets hectic, stress builds and hunger ends up running the show (demanding job, wife, little kids and so on).
Mounjaro changed everything for me, since hunger is finally something I can manage. On top of that I've put far better habits in place and currently get out for 15-20 km of running each week plus 2-3 weight sessions.
Right now I'm tapering down from Mounjaro, and my aim has moved away from pure weight loss toward body composition, holding on to muscle and staying at a good weight for the long haul. I'm also keen on keeping up with research into newer GLP-1s, retatrutide included, which I've read about for 2 months across all the usual places and have now acquired. Interested to see how that goes before I consider complementary options like MOT-C AND KLOW.
I'm here to pick up knowledge from those with real-world experience, pass on what has worked in my case, and hopefully come away with a few useful ideas. Glad to be part of it!
