Greetings, all

I'd been reading along quietly for a while and finally made an account. Hopefully I can add something and pick things up from such a great community.

I'm an older bloke (44) working out how to deal with a few health complaints of my own.

I'm borderline type 2, though diet and a bit of exercise keep it mostly in check. Sweets and carbs are my weakness, I'll admit.

I'm tall and fairly muscular, but there's plenty of fat on me too.

Blood pressure and cholesterol are both up, plus I have hypothyroidism.

ADHD is another one - I was medicated at one point, but these days I just handle it myself.

Quite a few lads I work with got me into all this, which is how I found my way to this place.

My aim is to work out how to get past a few of these health issues. Health and fitness matter a lot to me, even if a hectic job and life have knocked me off course.

I've just put a gym together in the garage and I get out on the bike regularly. My shifts run 12hr days and nights on a swing pattern, and they've really worn my body down.

I'm hoping to soak up what I can about this world and chip in whenever I'm able.

Thanks for having me.

DS
