My name is Chris, and this is my first post here. Peptides are a world I want to actually understand, so I have come to read and learn. I am somewhere in my mid-40s. Weight has been a battle for as long as I can remember. From high-school days right up until this past February, my body swung between 170lbs and, most recently, 270lbs. I stand 6'0ft. Up and down, sharply, for decades - that has been my pattern. Most of my working life was physical, then at the top of 2025 I took a job that keeps me sitting. Food and I have never had a simple relationship, going right back to when I was a young lad. Once I was parked at that desk, things got away from me fast, and by Feb 2026 I had blown up to 270lbs. YIKES!
This is as heavy as I have ever been. The previous record was 250, set back in 2020, after a shoulder operation and a head injury that sent me into depression. Before that accident I had a six pack and 180lbs of shredded muscle - a first for me. The accident took all of it. A few more yo-yo cycles followed. Holding steady has never come easily. Every time I tell myself... "This time will be different." At its worst, my family resorted to hiding junk food from me. Embarrassing enough, is it not? I do know a change has to happen. I am down to 210lbs now, from 270lbs, and it has been hell. Nothing comes as easily as it did back then. That is the brutal reality of getting older, and I get it.
Same story again: my whole adult life has swung between 170-270. Now that I am in my mid 40s, two things have landed on me. One, the yo-yo has to end. Two, reaching and holding a healthy BMI is getting harder by the year. What I want is a decent quality of life. The bouncing stops here. Hunger is constant... genuinely, non-stop. It is like a tiny guy perched on my shoulder with a megaphone, screaming ",EAT MORE! EAT MORE! YOU'RE NOT FINISHED!!!". I have reached the end of my rope. It occurred to me that a community might help. So here I am. Thanks in advance for the support.
