Hi there,
41 y/o M living in MN, USA. I've had a long journey over my life bouncing up and down with my weight and difficulty controlling binge eating. When I was 14 I was the heaviest I remember seeing on the scale at 265 pounds, but I stopped weighing myself and could have easily been at 300 when I finally started to make some changes. I actually dropped a ton of weight in high school by playing DDR (for you younger folks that's a dance based rhythm video game that was popular in arcades in the late 90's/early oughts). Over the next 20 years I yo-yoed up and down, getting up to 215 frequently and then back down again to 185. This was always a product of my binge eating and inability to control it.
When I was 31 I started running. I ran and ran and pushed myself to do it, eventually ending in a marathon run when I was 36. After that I started lifting weights and experimented with anabolics. I started packing on muscle, but the binge eating never stopped. Eventually I was diagnosed with BED and given vyvanse, which worked pretty well but didn't control the food noise for the whole day. Eventually I bought some reta on the grey market (thank you this site!) and started a very low dose, and the food noise was just... gone. For the first time I can remember in possibly my life I make it to the end of the day right now without the urge to stuff my face. It's been transformative, and now I want to see if I can push my fitness to the next level with help from other peps. I'm at the point where I lift 6 days a week typically and I'm really seeing progress now, and to finally be able to control what I eat has been huge for me. This forum has been a great learning source (I've been lurking for about the past 6 months), and I thought it was finally time to join for real. I'm looking forward to interacting with others here that might share my similar interests.
Peace and Love ya'll
