New arrival here, so I figured an introduction was in order.

I'm 45 years old, 6'3", and these days I'm around 104 kg, which is about as heavy as I've ever been. Up until roughly Christmas I was training consistently - lifting and running 4-5 days a week - and over the past year I went from about 104 kg down to roughly 94 kg. Then an injury derailed me, and getting that momentum back has been a struggle. I'm heading back to the local gym this coming Monday, and I'm hoping that marks the start of a good year in which I rebuild some fitness.

Even with that progress, getting beyond that point proved really hard, no matter how consistent my training was or how carefully I tried to eat. Evening appetite, and the persistent “food noise,” are my biggest problem - they seem to wipe out a lot of the good work.

I've been reading more about peptides and other appetite-related options, and another gym forum sent me this way. Honestly, I'm naturally sceptical - particularly about injecting anything - but I'm here to listen, learn, and hear what people's real-world experiences have been. The idea of sticking myself with needles really doesn't appeal, so I suspect I'll end up going the pen route eventually (hence the username!).

Eventually my aim is to get down to around 85 kg and to feel healthier and more in control again.

Appreciate the welcome.

Since I'm unable to post replies in other places, this thread will serve as a kind of diary for me.

I've gone ahead and ordered R20 from one of the forum's suppliers. Given my username, standard needles and similar items make me pretty uncomfortable, so my plan is to pick up a convipen for dosing. I'm definitely feeling some apprehension about all this, but I guess nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Honestly, the thought of injecting myself made me quite nervous at first. But it didn't take long before I became at ease with it, which caught me off guard. I'm on subcutaneous, and at this point I truly can't feel a thing.
Thanks Hastur, that reply means a lot — hearing that others have been in the same spot as me (or were!) and still pushed past it really helps!

I had intended to contribute to the shutdown thread, but it appears I can’t post there anymore. Is it just me, or does the moderation around here feel a bit.... heavy-handed?

Anyway, I’m pleased to say my first pep order has arrived - I’m apparently not permitted to reveal where it came from, but it was a forum sponsor and the whole thing took roughly 23 days from ordering to reaching the UK.

Tomorrow I’m going to start with a small dose - how exciting.
