New here, so I figured I'd say hello — greetings from Texas! My professional roots are in medicine, and I'm constantly chasing self-improvement, mentally and physically alike.

A bit about where I've been: staying active and keeping my health a priority was always my norm. Then life happened — schooling, residency, personal matters, etc. — and I drifted from the habits I'd built so carefully. Eventually I recognized that I couldn't make the lifestyle shift back to my old ways alone. So after talking things over with my PCP and doing a lot of research, I decided to try GLP medications as a tool to help me get back on track. Jump ahead to today: I'm settling back into a good rhythm and feeling much more like the person I used to be. My perspective on life has shifted, and I've seen firsthand what peptides can do (alongside an active and healthy lifestyle, naturally!).

Earlier on, I began with Wegovy and had success on it for about 6 months. Later, my PCP recommended Zepbound (which is what I take now @ max dose). I've been on Zepbound for a little over 6 months, and I'm down roughly 100 lbs, which lands me close to where I was in my "prime." I feel and look great, and this journey (combined with my medical background) has sparked my curiosity about everything the peptide world might offer. There's valuable research waiting to be done, I believe, and in time peptides as a whole will become a valuable addition to common treatment practices.

Personally, I've found that peptides are a powerful addition to a healthy lifestyle. It's a subject I want to learn more about and get more involved with, so that I can better myself, and become more informed for my patients. I'm eager to see everyone else's experiences, and to deepen my understanding of peptides and what they have to offer.

Welcome!

Peptides are best thought of as medications that offer a workaround for a particular medical issue, rather than "a powerful addition to a healthy lifestyle."
