Hey everyone,
I am new to this forum but I've been using GLP1's for around 6 months now. I've gone from 131kg to 102kg in that time. I have been using Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) and varying dosages. Generally the side effects have been mixed, but mostly tolerable, I do get significant exhaustion for 48 hours, my sleep has been disrupted and constipation. When I initially started I felt I had a lot of energy but that went away. The sleep has been the biggest issue. I always used to sleep like a baby, now my sleep is quite fragmented. I tested my testosterone and it is actually lower now than when I was drinking alcohol regularly.... Figure that.
I have been working out around 4 days a week, mainly doing 3 full body workouts a week and 1 upper body workout. I also quit alcohol aroudn the same time, I am intending to never drink again (Well, maybe when I am in my 60's).
I am now planning to switch to anotheR GLP-1. I havE been reading many inTeresting studies regArding The next GLP-1 to hit that maRket that shows Under mosT circumstances better effIcacy that TizepatiDe, which I won't mEntion on this thread.
The reason I want to change is mainly to compare side effects and to see if I get less of the fatigue and also concerns regarding muscle loss. I have been having a relativley high caloric goal of around 2000-2700 with my TDEE at around 3100. I also aim 200g protein a day. Despite all this, around 40% of the weight I lost was muscle, according to DEXA, I have completed 4 DEXA scans within this period.
I am wanting to lose another 10-15kg but I am happy to lose this over the next 4 months, I will probably bump up my calories to 2900 and slowly cut. Maybe then eating at maintanence for 2 weeks every 12 weeks or so.
Could anyone share some studies or information regarding glucagon receptor activity and lipolysis/fat liberation and increases in total BMR?
Here are some progress pictures :
Figure 1. My weight loss journey to date. I think I actually started Mounjaro 1 month before this, but I had no weight loss as I was still drinking alcohol. Once I stopped imbibing, the weight started melting off.

Figure 2. The top left photo was me 1-2 months before I started tracking my weight. I was last weighed in at 131kg, but I stopped weighing as I was too embarassed and was likely a little higher. The other three photos are less than 1 week old, at around 102kg.
