Has the FDA always been this aggressive in cracking down on GLP and other peptides???

I haven't been around GLP-1s and the grey market for very long, but now I'm suddenly getting bombarded with YouTube videos about people talking about the FDA cracking down on grey (like aggressively), people getting hospitalized (yea I'm talking about that one story about the 8 australians getting hospitalized because of "black-market glp product" and that the world "NEED" a stricter control over GLP market), and news about the FDA seizing packages bla bla bla, with a picture IRONICALLY showing NOT the any of the drug, or steroid or any of the peptide themselves, but 10 mL vial of bac water which is the most hilarious shits.

Has the FDA crackdown always been this aggressive or only very recently? to stop the grey market from disrupting the supply chain for GLP-1s because they're potentially losing out on billions? Again, I haven't been around grey long enough to really know how aggressive the FDA was before. I'm wondering if they were THIS aggressive all along, or if I'm just more vigilant about it now because I'm constantly looking up retatrutide products? Let a brother know so I can start loading up some more before they outlaw it 🙏

I believe it is more likely that it is now in your algorithm, and the search engines and social media are MUCH more aggressive about mining and selling your data.

If anything, we have seen some peptides become more acceptable.

We have seen that, over the last few years, they are cracking down on the compounders with GLP1s, but have had little success.

There have only been a handful of these stories regarding "Grey".

I would assume that once they hit the low hanging fruit of compounders, grey might be next for GLP1s.

Aggressively?

Lol. You must be joking.

The previous FDA was overtly anti-peptide, while the current admin has been battling the permanent deep state FDA employees over widening access by overturning the restrictions put in place when the last one was in charge. Predictably the establishment media is freaking out, and you can expect impeachment hearings over lenient policies toward “deadly peptides” if power changes hands in congress.

RFK Jr. May Reverse a Peptide Ban He Calls “Illegal.” Former FDA Officials Say He Mischaracterized Their Work.

The agency’s 2023 decision to place 19 peptides on the “unsafe” list was supported by numerous documented safety concerns, former officials said. Even though demand for peptide therapies has exploded since then, there’s been little new science.

What you can’t expect is for the company that invested billions in developing breakthrough drugs to stand by without doing anything as some companies make fortunes by openly stealing their products.

No, I’m dead serious 😂 At least, that’s what my algorithm is beginning to pivot toward, which is why I’m not sure whether it was just the algorithm doing its thing or if it’s a new addition JUST as I’m getting into it, specifically to make sure I can’t get any GLP 😂

But that article is VERY reassuring to see

I watched way too many hours of that FDA advisory committee on peptides in July 2026 that was streamed. It was painful. It was also about as professional as the "mock meeting" my 7th grade civics class was forced to participate in.

If you don't think the FDA career members are a bunch of idiots, you should sit (suffer) through the meeting.

I'd take any such stories with a shaker full of salt, less likely to be about actual crackdowns and more likely they are about (even if not presented as such) Lily actively trying to get any med source but their own shut down. If Worm Brain wasn't in charge right now, it'd actually, possibly be happening, but he wants peptides in use and so far still holds some sway on that. But it's undeniable that Lily is trying all they can to taint the very idea of any drug but their own as life-threatening, dangerous, deadly, etc.

Congratulations, you've been influenced.

Most of these stories in the headlines are blown out of proportion in order to catch clicks.

They play on our fears and set the imagination on fire worrying about boogie men.

Fear not, they will never be able to close the door on the damn that has broken.

Where there is the will (and a buck to be made), there is a way.

Was not aware of them doing anything on grey.

Has the FDA crackdown always been this aggressive or only very recently?

I got a news link today about peptide crackdowns in Australia. Apparently an Australian lab discovered that a vial of 10mg Tirzepatide actually contained 18mg. My first thought was "YES! THAT'S MY KIND OF OVERFILL!"

I guess I missed the point of the article.

No that's what we all want to hear. Overfill are all we ever wanted in life

yea I know it was just algorithm driving the fear but part of me... all day everyday... want to stock up on some more reta. I just needed a reason, ANYTHING really, to convince me I need to stock up... MORE

Traditionally, the 'gray' is CN imports. Kinda a CBP issue more than FDA...If there is some kind of upturn in gray market GLP-1 enforcement, the CN gray market will soldier on even if dips into shades of black and prohibition era type underground distribution and sales ...

There is no doubt that companies such as Lily employ people to write articles about peptides sourced from compounding or grey sources and problems they have caused, which are then presented to media organisations or social media to be published usually as is without editorial input, this is fairly standard company media manipulation / PR campaign stuff. Does not necessarily mean the info in them is made up or wrong or the concerns are not real, but usually the emphasis and tone is a bit on the over dramatic side, and there is very rarely any mention of the drivers of this grey market, the huge numbers of obese persons who cannot afford them, or of any attempt at harm minimisation, just trying to scare people off.

The reality is grey or black market peptides and even compounded ones are more likely to have quality control issues, and serious harms are more or less inevitable from mislabelled or contaminated peptides , but much more often by misdosed peptides especially GLP's, as the systemic safety features built into the drug company devices plus the medical input and advice on using them is absent, and most people have zero experience in mixing and dosing drugs, making errors very common.

Some articles are sourced from more legit medical sources like the ones in Australia about liver toxicity from contaminated retatrutide, but the tone is really very similar, but not that surprising coming from a organisation aimed at securing public health from dangers. And the risk in that case is real and not statistically insignificant. It is impossible to know how many people in Victoria source peptides from beauty salons, but as a ball park guess I would estimate 10's of thousands, possibly even 100, 000 plus quite a few more buying black market peptides from overseas. But 7 cases out of 10, 000 is close to a one in a thousand risk of serious toxicity, which while not exactly likely is not rare at all. Buying peptides from those types of sources in Victoria is really a genuine risk, and not safe by most reasonable standards, so trying to scare people away from that is not unreasonable.

But I think those writing about fail to truly understand the underlying issue. The demand for GLP drugs in particular is huge, and very strong, and not very likely to be easily deterred, even by real actual dangers. Short of heroic and unlikely efforts at enforcement at the borders, black market GLP and other peptides are likely to become more commonly used over time, not less, until the legit versions get cheap enough to be real competition.

Clear you cookies and you'll likely not get that. Are you trying to get info from YT?

If the FDA was even remotely making an attempt at cracking down on peptides then Lilly wouldn't need to be filing lawsuits.

The TGA in Australia ( about the same as the FDA ) is very definitely serious about cracking down on peptides getting here, and there is no legal grey area here, it is definitely illegal. Yet the are quite a few Aussies on here on GLP drugs although customs seizure rates do seem to have gone up recently.
