Did my period blunt tirzepatide's effects?

I spent a month at 7.5 of tirz, then bumped it up 5 days before my period started. Even with the higher dose, 7.5 actually worked better for me than 10 does. Is it possible my period is simply overpowering the food noise? This past week I've definitely eaten a lot more than I did during the previous month. Same vial the whole time.

Here's a post that's kind of on the same topic:

Yeah, I get this too. For me it's 100% tied to the week before my period — hormones are what set it off. During that stretch I never drop any weight, and occasionally I'll gain a couple pounds. Once my period wraps up, things return to normal.

If you feel hungrier or notice the scale stalling around your period, it is a temporary hormonal response, not a failure or loss of tolerance to the GLP-1 medication.

Stick to your routine, focus on hydration to manage bloat, and evaluate your progress across month-over-month trends rather than week-to-week cycle fluctuations.

It may take several doses before you notice the higher amount. Try not to be too hard on yourself. I suspect a lot of us lose our way when our cycle comes around.

My daughter mentioned that she puts on 5 lbs when her period comes, and 2 days afterward it disappears. The BLOAT is real. Everything will work out 🙂

Many of us see the scale stop moving — or even move up — during that time of the month, and then at the end there's a sudden drop where 4 pounds vanish overnight.

Tracking your cycle alongside your weigh-ins is really useful. When you notice that same increase recurring each month, it no longer feels like the tirzepatide stopped working for you.
