Hi everyone,

I’ve got a quick question. My ADHD is chronic. For quite a while I’ve taken Vyvanse at 70mg. That also helped with my BED. During some reading, though, I came across accounts from people saying that once they used reta, their Vyvanse stopped working, which would be a pretty rough outcome in my case.

Has anyone here dealt with this? I realize medication responses vary from person to person, but I was trying to find out whether this happens often. Thanks ahead of time!

I am not on Vyvanse or any other ADHD medication, but pre-workout lands much weaker for me on reta than it used to. My assumption is that the same thing happens with prescription stimulants.

I’m on Adderrall. My intake of it has gone down a lot ever since I started Reta. To me, Reta has had a beneficial impact on my adhd. The smartest move is to test it out and watch how you feel across a week or two. If that turns out badly, drop Reta and give Tirz a try. I understand how crushing adhd can be. Another option is to include peptides such as Semax/Selank, which assist with adhd.

Quick background: methylphenidate has been my medication since March. My ADHD diagnosis came only a few weeks earlier, and this treatment has been a massive support for both my mental health and the ADHD-related fkups.

Last weekend I finally began Retatrutide. My hope is that these two will pair well and support a healthy mind and body.

I’ll be keeping a close eye on this thread!

For me, it’s Adderall instead of Vyvanse: 10mg/day to treat ADHD, and I’ve stayed at that for 18 yrs (45M). Once I began, I personally saw no change that pointed to my Adderall becoming less effective.

If people taking Adderall don’t describe this, while those on Vyvanse do, I keep wondering whether the proposed mechanism might involve how the body turns the Vyvanse pro-drug into dextroamphetamine.

Considering how GLP-1s/GIPs can dampen cravings for food, alcohol, and drugs… I frequently ask myself whether executive function is part of that picture. During an 18-month tirz clinical trial at 15mg, I definitely experienced reductions in alcohol use, rumination (specifically tied to Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria), and impulsivity. It wouldn’t shock me at all if, at some point, ADHD-related effects get included among the many effects this drug class has.

Vyvanse is something I've taken before, and these days Adderall is my current stimulant. For a bit more than a year, my use has been fairly steady. Before that, during my teens and early twenties, it was more up and down (I'm 27f).

One thing I should bring up: with Adderall, I get this sense that I "NEED" it in order to function, so I don't miss a day. While I was using Vyvanse, though, sometimes I could tell a pause was needed, so I'd skip a few days or take weekends off. Adderall, on the other hand, has me taking it daily.

I'm about to take my 3rd 2mg dose of reta, and I've realized my reaching for it has become a LOT less frequent.

Still, semax and selank were also started when I took my first reta dose.

Because of that, I can't pin it on reta with certainty, but my impulsivity has dropped a LOT since then. I also hardly ever drink these days.

If you're okay with it, could you tell me a bit about semax and selank? I'm curious to research them too, but I'd really like to know your personal experience—what made you begin, how things are progressing, and so on. 🙂

Yep! Semax and selank were started by me on June 17th, at 500mcg per day for each. On day one, I used 250mcg since I had never pinned before and had no idea how my body would react.

What sticks with me from that day: the 1000 simultaneous conversations in my mind suddenly became QUIET. You know the SpongeBob scene with the little office guys yelling, darting around in a frenzy, and every file ablaze? That describes my brain 100% of the time, from waking until sleeping.

So selank and semax were what drew my interest. Yet on that day, I recall being able to move at my own pace, to think without a thousand worries cutting in. I thought, wow—is this how normal people are meant to feel?

This is just my own observation, but it seems like my fight-or-flight mode/sympathetic system is permanently switched on. Several days into taking it, I realized I was yawning. I cannot recall when I last yawned lol. I must have, of course; it simply didn't stand out as much before, given how I felt once I noticed it. I remember thinking wow, I felt calm, peaceful, and safe.

Also, the brain fog I used to have is gone. I'm not stuttering all the time when speaking with people. There's been a noticeable drop in my social anxiety.

When I first used a stimulant, everything also got quiet. I'm glad things are going well for you!!! Are you using intranasal or subq?!
