Two weeks out from Thanksgiving in 2025 I accepted that I needed help with my weight. I'd done it before — keto first, running before that. Insanity with Shaun T and P90X featured too, though that was years back. Then we adopted a child from overseas and life got harder and harder. Come 9 AM my day was already wrecked and my emotional reserves spent. Year followed year. Under the unrelenting pressure of raising a very difficult child, every good habit I had slowly died. Working out what he needed — medication, plus changes to how we parented him — took 6 years, and by the end of it I was used up. Nothing was left for diet or exercise. The only way I ever shifted weight was by aiming every mental resource at it, and there was simply nothing left to give. Going back to that kind of obsession was never an option, since I can't let my mind narrow that far without other, more important things slipping.

But two weeks before Thanksgiving 2025 came the moment I said I need help. A compounded pharmacy prescribed me semiglutide. My first shot went in 3 days before Thanksgiving (I broke two needles, having not realised the cap needed taking off the thing!). The food noise died straight away. A modest plate was enough to satisfy me, with no constant craving for more. One cookie did the job, where before I'd want 5. Over the last 6 months that's 33 lbs gone — 15% of my bodyweight.

I've just moved over to tirzepatide, and 3 weeks ago the gym became part of my routine. Weights get lifted 4 days a week, cardio happens on 5 days, and I'm loving it! A fair amount of muscle went with the big weight loss, I think, so the goal now is holding onto muscle while the weight keeps coming down.

Sermorelin has been in the mix for around 3 weeks too. Sleep feels better, though what else it's doing for me I couldn't say. Ordering some ipamorelin and stacking it on is something I'm considering. Anyway, getting acquainted with everyone here and learning all of it is what I'm looking forward to! So glad this place exists!
