Hi all,
I'm a 29-year-old physiotherapist based in Canada. Staying active has always been part of my life, and I care deeply about exercise, rehab, nutrition, and the science of recovery and weight control. Thought I'd say hello and explain how I ended up here.
My curiosity about peptides grew out of my clinical practice. I've treated many patients through ACL reconstruction, Achilles rupture, disc injury, and ankle ORIF recovery. Along the way, several mentioned the Wolverine stack (bpc157 and tb500), and I began to notice some fairly interesting results, especially in scar healing and functional recovery. A number of ankle ORIF patients appeared to move along noticeably faster than the pace I was used to seeing. Recovery involves many variables, of course, and I can't credit the peptides directly for those gains, but it certainly got me curious.
That curiosity eventually led me to try bpc157 myself, on and off. I've had chronic lower back pain for roughly 17 years after an injury from contact sports, and I've personally seen fairly meaningful improvement in my morning pain and stiffness. For me, smaller and more consistent doses of around 200 mcg daily, taken at night, seem to work best. After that many years of back trouble, experiencing those changes firsthand has been interesting.
Lately I've also begun exploring reta, which honestly has been a pretty big game changer for me, especially for appetite regulation and weight management. I've been slowly titrating up from 0.5 mg once weekly, usually on Fridays after work. So far I've had some mild digestive issues, but nothing that's been hard to handle.
The most notable side effect for me has actually been sleep. My sleep was already pretty poor before, but I've noticed it's been more disrupted since starting reta. I've been testing whether having some carbs before bed helps. I've also had some pretty vivid dreams and occasional nightmares, though that isn't entirely new for me. I also stopped using cannabis about two to two and a half months ago, which could definitely be playing a role in the sleep changes.
What drew me to this community is the wish to learn more about the science behind GLP-1 medications, hear other people's experiences, and better understand their potential long-term effects. I'm especially interested in appetite regulation, preserving muscle mass while losing weight, managing side effects, and how these medications might fit into long-term health and weight management.
I'm also keen to learn more about recovery-related peptides, particularly the gap between anecdotal reports and what current research actually supports. Looking forward to learning from everyone and hopefully adding some useful perspectives from my physiotherapy background!
