I drop by quallіgator.com from time to time, and I often notice some of the quallіgator members over here. For the past couple of days I've been checking the site, and it's been unavailable. Are there other members here who know what's up? I hope it hasn't been shut down.

It's been months since I last visited that site, so I can't offer anything. Maybe @Broken Chef has some idea, assuming he's still active here?

A member location tracking controversy led several of the foundation people to leave, and after that I'd imagine the site simply faded out the way blogs typically do over time. It's been some time since my last visit, though on the final couple of occasions I stopped by, activity seemed pretty sparse.

Oh nooo! Boo. That place felt really comfortable to me.

I saw that the site was offline over the weekend. I used to drop in now and then, since it was a welcoming place. Still, as cldfront pointed out, things had gotten fairly quiet there.

They banned me around a year back — I don't know why, and I honestly can't recall the reason. I'd forgotten they were even around.

Wow, I hadn't given that person a thought in ages. Before he packed up his marbles, headed home and launched a forum of his own, he was an early user here — member #905 — and a really active one, posting as Dionysos.

What the drama actually was, I honestly can't remember, LOL.

It had been a while since I last visited, and when I stopped by I found things in that state. The way it was handled really didn't sit well with me. Seeing how some people were treated by him left me quite disappointed, and even though he had always been nice to me, it made me uneasy. As a result, I mostly quit going there. I'm aware that running the site came with costs, so that could be the reason. He's an older gentleman too, so I hope his health is still holding up.

Early in my journey I was quite active both there and here. These days I don't really have a need for it, so I only drop in here now and then to see whether there's anything I can add that might help others. More often than not, though, the OGs have already taken care of it.

I came across a post discussing this some time ago. From what I gathered, he wanted to share a list he'd put together of "reliable" vendors, wasn't permitted to do so, and as a result he departed and launched a forum of his own.

I only learned about that after I'd already left quallіgator on account of him. I'd raised a question about something I observed while reconstituting, but he said it wasn't possible, so I shared photos. He then pushed for the conversation to move to DMs, where he bullied me and kept arguing in circles until I finally gave up and left.

From what I remember, it was tied to how enthusiastic he was about Nexaph. People accused him of shilling for Cain. I believe his vendor list stirred up controversy too.

Honestly, that reaction struck me as unlike them. After a line is crossed, coming back from it is difficult.

He departed earlier than Cain. The whole thing was drama over a Google sheet of vendors he had put together, plus doubts about whether he had been compromised, was receiving free merchandise, or was being paid to shill

To be clear, he chose to leave on his own after he came to see my posts about the problems with vendor lists as a personal attack, even though his own list was never named specifically at that point. As @Derby noted, he ultimately opted to "pick up his marbles" and head home to launch a forum of his own. Later on, he did get banned here after he turned abusive toward the mods.

Several members raised suspicions or accusations of shilling for particular vendors both before and after he left, which only strengthens my dislike and distrust of vendor lists.

This space has always had, and will always have, a wide range of quirky personalities, and many of them go on to start their own groups, pages or sites to promote their unique approach, which is fine. More discussion is always better than less.

I owe this guy a lot of thanks for that list.

Back in October of 2024, a reddit post pointed me toward the list, and that's how I came across his website.

Even though I was active on both his forum and this one, it didn't take long for me to see the problems that come with keeping a list.

I didn't stick around much on that forum because it felt cliquish and judgmental to me. (Others may have had a different experience.)

My first gray account was actually made on his forum, but I soon came to see that the whole list idea was problematic at best and clearly misleading.

This site has rules, but I know from personal experience how strongly it opposes censorship and how the culture here has let it grow.

Summary:

There is no magic list. A static list can't work given how this distribution model operates, and a menu reduces our ability to think critically about what we buy.

Without him, I never would have found this space, developed buying strategies, gained knowledge about the hobby, or spent so many hours reading and collaborating with others to sharpen my skills. He built something that looked like gold and it ultimately guided me to the real goldmine, which is this forum.

That place used to be my go-to spot, and the people there were incredibly friendly. It's a shame it's gone.
Same here, that was my experience too. The owner was open about his work on Reddit, fully aware that talking about peptides would get him banned. Without him, I wouldn't have had any idea how to begin a pep journey. When I found him on his own site, he was very welcoming and went out of his way to help. It's a shame the site is down.

I appreciate you letting us know. Hearing that is upsetting, though it's a relief that nothing health-related is going on and that he's fine.
