This is somewhat tied to the Peptide Jail Time discussions, but I'm more interested in what legal exposure exists for resellers and Group Promotion Vendors if a purchaser acts recklessly and then tries to sue everyone in the chain.



Does anyone know of an instance where a person fell ill after injecting something obtained through a vendor, reseller, or group buy? Take a hypothetical: a product comes back with an extreme result such as 45,000 EU of endotoxin. The purchaser is clearly warned, still buys at a reduced price, injects it, and lands in the hospital.



What I'm trying to figure out is what prevents an unhappy buyer from suing every party in the supply chain—vendor, reseller, and Group Promotion Vendor included—even when that buyer knowingly took on the risk themselves?

And what would that process actually look like.



Personally, I haven't come across any cases like this, but I'm also surprised it isn't more common (thinking about the TikTok crowd).

On top of that, in 99% of cases there's a document they require you to sign that releases them from liability.

The key factor is whether there are assets substantial enough to justify litigation costs and that can realistically be collected. Suing a Group Promotion Vendor might be possible, but such a party almost certainly lacks the funds to even offset the price of securing a verdict, much less provide anything left over to recover. A bigger vendor might hold assets, yet extracting them from China would in all likelihood prove unworkable.

I'm not a lawyer, but from having skydived and signed those kinds of waivers, there's added cover in the doctrine of assuming risk. you shot unknown chinese powder into yourself on purpose and now you want to sue?

In reality a skydiver can bring suit against a pilot when the pilot's negligence or active wrongdoing leads to an injury or a crash. Still, suing tends to be very difficult, since skydivers sign sweeping liability waivers, and the law shields companies and staff via the legal concept of assuming inherent risks

I'm honestly curious about this angle. Sure, plenty of folks criticize Group Promotion Vendors for wedging themselves into the supply chain just to shave off a cut from the top, without really adding anything. I'm aware that @ZippityDooDah has voiced his opinion on this repeatedly, and he holds a real grudge against them. Sorry to drag you in, zippity, but I'd genuinely like to hear more of your take.

Setting aside the clear-cut crooks and con artists, these people do handle a fair amount, don't they? And they do bring some value to the table.

1. The pricing you enjoy through Group Promotion Vendors wouldn't exist otherwise. Their worth here, I'd say, lies in knowing the market and the vendors, plus having the ability to strike deals with them.
   
2. Arranging testing (ideally with statistical validity). When handled properly, this can be an efficiency gain, since end users don't have to repeatedly test the same batch themselves.
   
3. They do resolve problems up to a point. That said, if the vendor disappears, you're stuck on your own. Still, that's no worse than buying straight from the vendor.
   
4. Given how this whole thing is set up, they inevitably end up putting in a lot of effort. The logistics alone are quite demanding.

So my question is this - do people really view Group Promotion Vendors as mostly scams and deadweight? I mean, as an end user, you are getting something out of it.

What bothers me isn't the idea itself — it's how many people have twisted it into something unrecognizable, operating with zero accountability and zero transparency.

A real group buy means the organizers openly account for every dollar coming in and going out, along with all their correspondence with the supplier and the testing lab. Without that, you're not looking at a group buy at all — you're looking at a vendor's promotional campaign.

Most of these group vendors eventually collapse when a deal goes bad. They can't deliver the refunds they promised, they lack the leverage to force their supplier to stand behind any guarantees, and they cook up sob stories — a grandmother who supposedly died for the 11th time, a sudden medical emergency, some other personal crisis, trouble shuffling funds around so refunds can't be processed, or any number of other fabricated excuses to dodge blame and accountability.

And that's before we even get into the long, ugly track record these vendors (or their "assistants," "helpers," or whatever fake title they hand their business partners) have of doxxing customers, banning paying customers the moment they ask an inconvenient question (almost never with a refund), setting all the terms themselves, and rigging the testing to guarantee favorable results — the list goes on.

These so-called "group buys" exist to reel in suckers who get dazzled by the promise of a deal and who feel falsely reassured by the word "tested." The few honest, legitimate "group buys" that do exist will never be talked about openly — they're invite-only.

Don't be a sucker.

Stop prioritizing price over everything else.

When I first entered this space, prices were far higher than they are now, and testing has never been more accessible. You can obtain a 1-year supply of GLP-1's for under $100/year, or up to roughly $300/year, simply by ordering direct from any of the numerous Chinese suppliers. With most testing groups, enough people join that the cost averages under $30 per person. That means for about $330, you end up with a year's worth of product that has been tested entirely independently of the seller (or whoever "organized" the purchase). If shaving off another 10 to 20 percent matters more to you, larger quantities will earn a price break from every supplier.


If the "organizer" has any hand in coordinating or paying for the testing, it is completely worthless. Manipulating the results is far too easy for them.


Nobody reveals the names because there is always one person, somewhere, who cannot keep their big dirty mouth shut and wrecks it for everybody else. Of the people buying peptides, 80% are better off going direct to China, 15% should use domestic vendors, 4% ought to stay with licensed pharmacies, and the last 1% (which does not include me, by the way; I have not taken part in a "group buy/promotion" since late 2023) should use private groups.


The rules make this perfectly clear. No source discussion applies to anyone below the "GLP-1 Apprentice" user level, and those who have reached that level are expected to obey the rule that source discussion is permitted only in the Research Chemicals and Sourcing section of the forum.

Whether pursuing a lawsuit against them makes sense (they may have no real assets, you could end up getting shot, etc.) is likely a separate question - but what is actually preventing someone from suing (or trying to sue) every party or any party involved, if that person genuinely wanted to?

Doing this out in the open, fully transparent, seems insane to me. To me it just looks like a space that exists purely "for-profit."
