Hi everyone,

It's been roughly 2 months since I started reta, and the positive effects are clear to me. What has me most fired up, honestly, is the chance to build fresh habits and reshape how my brain relates to food. My cravings hit way too hard. It really feels like the food we're surrounded by has been chemically engineered to keep us hooked on it. For years I've been parked around the 210 pound mark, and dropping weight has been a real struggle. Any bit of progress feels like pure willpower and gritting my teeth. I'm really looking forward to learning more and genuinely shifting my health path now that I'm in my 40's. This strikes me as possibly the most pivotal period for my health, one that will determine how I feel for the rest of my life.

Best of luck, and the point you made about food is spot on!

What's your height?

I stand at 6'0, and 15 years back I sat between 180-190, a range I believed was a healthy one for my frame (I was heavily involved in sports at the time). Since covid hit, though, my weight has stayed at 210, and no matter how much I reduce what I eat, or how much it feels like I'm going hungry (apologies - is "intermittent fasting" the preferred term?), I simply can't drop under 205/210.

Standing at 6'0" too. Back when basketball and other sports filled most of my time, I managed to reach about 185-190, even though carbs made up the bulk of what I ate and protein was fairly low. My goal is to reach that same range again, this time while consistently hitting roughly 150g of protein each day at minimum. Today I'm at 202, and oddly it hasn't felt like 'work' to get here, despite cleaning up my eating considerably and cutting back on restaurants and donuts.
