2 years on and off GLP-1 meds — my intro

Starting weight was 312lbs. I began Wegovy in 2024 and dropped roughly 35lbs before my insurance stopped covering it. After that I gave Tirz a try, but it didn't produce any results for me. I switched to Reta and started it on June 1st, and I'm now down 30lbs. Current weight is 241. My goal weight is 190lbs, which I want to reach by June 1st 2027.
 
It's encouraging to hear that other GLPs didn't work out for you but Reta is, since I'm in a similar situation and getting ready to begin.

Great job on the amazing progress so far, and best of luck getting the rest of the way to 190!! That goal and timeline seem very realistic and achievable. You've got this.

For me, it went the other way. Mounjaro was my starting point, and I shed a good amount of weight on it (plus I was no longer pre diabetic) — that is, until my insurance cut off coverage.

After that, my doctor had 7 months of compounded sema sitting around and sold it to me ($700/month). It didn't deliver much, and the further in I got, the less it seemed to do. Given what I've since picked up about how long reconstituted peps stay good, I'm now second-guessing having 7 months of vials in the fridge at once instead of getting a fresh vial each month. A lot of money wasted. I went without any GLP's for nearly 18months, hoping prices would drop or my insurance would start covering them.

So here I am now, on Reta, and the results look a lot like what I got from Mounjaro — although my dose is still low.
