What's your favourite thing about reta?

Adding my support for reta as a way to break through a plateau:

Since I wasn't able to handle larger doses of tirz, reta ended a stall that had lasted for months, and I haven't hit another one after that. So maintenance is coming up soon, even if the target weight continues to drop. That said, it's possible I might handle tirz 10+ mg more easily at this point. For the most part, I've gone as high as 6 mg of reta each week.

When Tirz stopped working for me, reta got things moving again — I was able to eat quite a bit and the weight still came off. ;-)

What I couldn't stand: my RHR went up 5-10, my skin felt strange (itchy rather than a burn, really), and I had anhedonia.
Since I run, the resting heart rate aspect isn't something I'm eager about, but up to now it hasn't been a problem.

Same here, my heart rate went up as well while I was running

Since I'm a cheapskate, what I really appreciate is the cash (and hours) I no longer spend on groceries. Losing weight is a pleasant extra, mind you 😂

My aim was 2 things, and in fact I overshot the 2nd by roughly 8lbs. At this point I'm nearly back, 4lbs short, yet I feel fantastic. I'd titrated down to 4mg, but for the Friday morning injections I returned to 6mg. Because of how my belly felt, I simply sensed I required an increase. I still fill up quickly, though at meals my eyes are bigger than my stomach when it comes to food. How distant from maintenance? Yesterday was a cardiologist follow-up after 2 normal tests. Regarding everything about me, the doc was delighted as hell. He asked about further weight loss, and I said it's diet.

I'm now eating portions that are actually normal, and I feel way more than satisfied — plus my daily anxiety has disappeared. Work used to get to me constantly, but since starting Reta, minor things don't bother me anymore.

Beyond what it does physically, it gives me a mental push. Mostly, that mental drive keeps me showing up at the gym and lifting no fewer than 2 times a week. If life allows, I go more often, but over the past year I've made it to the gym more than I did across the whole previous 15 years put together.

I dropped 30 kilos and honestly didn't have to sacrifice much to get there.

Cravings went down, and so did inflammation, bloating and fatty liver.

It fixed my internal issues so well that I've somehow ended up pregnant out of nowhere 🤣

So we have to part ways until April next year, but I'll be jumping back on it real quick 😎

Same here, that's the part I loved too! My lab results came back just a few days ago and everything is in the normal range. For the past few years my A1c kept swinging between Pre diabetic and T2. Getting a BG reading of 100 used to require a 48 hour fast. OMAD plus 48hr and 72 hr fasts were the only things that kept me in check. For 5 years my whole life was just fasting. I loved it though. I love Reta better…

Chatting with newcomers about it — not exactly, well, actually yes it is. Losing 60lbs has me loving how I feel these days. Energy is way up, no more laziness, and the side effects have vanished too. Once I hit 6-8mg the side effects disappeared and they've stayed gone for a long time. I had been on 10mg, though now I'm experimenting with a maintenance dose. I plan to keep using this for as long as I can. The downside for me is loose skin; I'm aware I lost some muscle along with stubborn belly fat that's gradually reducing. My weight loss averaged 2lbs/week. I ought to begin some weight training and other activities to tone up.
I figured that if I just cut out the drinking and the junk food, I'd finally have enough energy to move more, take on more work, and show up more for family events. When I finally kicked everything, I was thrilled. I was hitting the gym on a regular basis, but apart from that, I was still lazy. Turns out I'm just lazy by nature.

I love that Reta still lets me eat. At my dosage, I can easily maintain my macros without being ravenous after a workout. I feel fuller longer. I've stopped mindless snacking, and I don't get those intense sugar, salt, and carby junk food cravings right before my cycle. Also, that third fat-burning receptor is chef's kiss!

Same here — being able to keep eating is a plus for me as well.

To build on my earlier post. Being able to stay in a maintenance rhythm is something I really enjoy, and I can move between 6mg and 8mg based on what the scale shows. These days I eat whatever I want, within reason, and my weight only shifts by a pound or two either way. Doing 8mg today.
