What got me so invested in GLP-1s was my own experience losing weight. I haven't reached my goal yet, but I've developed a real enthusiasm for what I call 'GLP-1-ology' along with a broader focus on whole-person health. To me, this area is clearly where medicine is heading, so I make a habit of digging into new studies and papers as they come out.

Being based in Africa means that finding information and getting hold of these newer treatments looks quite different from what people face elsewhere. That's why I'm glad to be here: I want to pick up knowledge, offer whatever I can, and meet people who are on a similar journey.

Glad to have you! Do you have to jump through a lot of hoops to obtain the medication? How does the market look where you live? Are GLP1s banned in your area? I'm eager to hear about what you've been through.

In my country, GLP-1s are not banned, yet you won't find them on local pharmacy shelves at this point, largely because the cost is fairly high. People who manage to obtain them typically rely on family members returning from overseas, or they pick them up personally during trips abroad. Having a prescription accepted locally is a separate headache. At the same time, an informal market is taking shape, driven by widespread awareness of what these products can do, which is fueling considerable demand.
