Hey all, joining this forum makes me genuinely happy.

So, a quick rundown on me: I'm a 30-year-old woman working as an architect and artist, I keep myself active, and biology plus biochemistry are huge interests of mine. For the last 12 years I've been battling several serious health problems that came from pushing myself too hard, not sleeping enough, constant stress, and a benign brain tumor that threw my endocrine system into chaos. That tumor is basically what got me hooked on biology. I went through more than 50 doctors and got almost nothing useful out of it — only 1 of them still treats me now, for the underactive thyroid that resulted from my hypothalamus no longer working properly because of the tumor. So I took control myself, spent hours researching every single day, and eventually, bit by bit, fixed my own issues. I'm glad to report that I no longer have the tumor, thanks to my own research. Even the neurosurgeon couldn't believe my macroadenoma had vanished completely. The catch is that because it was a macro one, it left a dent in part of my hypothalamus, so that area will never function normally again, even with the tumor gone. I've also been able to assist some relatives with their health issues by guiding them on lifestyle, supplements and diet, and these days I'm pretty much the person everyone comes to for health advice, lol.

That's the reason I wanted to join this community. Personally I've never had a weight problem, I'm mostly lean, but I'm eager to soak up as much as possible about different peptides. Given all the fresh research and what these compounds might offer, I want access to solid information and real personal experiences about how various peptides have affected people, and ideally pick up some reliable details on them, because where I live in Eastern Europe it's really difficult to come across good info.

Looking forward to meeting you all here and learning more.

Hugs!

What a fantastic story! I'm really curious to hear about the way you managed to eliminate the brain tumor. Your determination is impressive. Don't ever give up!

Thanks for the warm welcome! The tumor turned out to be a prolactinoma. Looking back, it was likely aggravated by never getting enough rest, pushing myself too hard with work and studies, sleeping only 4 hr/day, plus a heavy depressive episode. My cortisol came back at 3x the normal range, my period stopped, and I dropped to a very low weight.

They prescribed bromocriptine to shrink it. That drug is the absolute worst. Because it acts as a dopamine agonist, it latches onto the brain's dopamine receptors while your own dopamine just sits there unused. So for 1 month I was essentially running on 0 dopamine. On top of that came intense nausea, brain fog, and more. After 1 month I quit, because even though the tumor had gotten smaller (only slightly), my sleep got even worse, I shed more weight, and I couldn't keep up with studying or working. The plan was to stay on it for at least 2 years hoping it would do the job; if that failed, surgery would have been next.

I started digging deep into research and stumbled on psychedelics being used for depression and other psychological conditions. Realizing the depression was wrecking my health further, I chose to take some 🍄 (a solo megadose out in the woods, lol). For the first time in over 10 years I felt alive. The catch: they act on the Serotonin 2-A receptor, while my core problem was dopamine. So I kept searching for other options, going deep into the literature (this was after I'd already tried every supplement that exists), and I learned about a certain empathogen that triggers a flood of serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin. I did a session with my brother and his friends, and the following morning I was in my kitchen singing for the first time in years. My father cried when he saw me. Both my parents had watched me decline slowly, sink into severe depression, and they feared for my life, since my issues had once dropped my blood pressure and heart rate so low that I nearly slipped into a coma and died.

So I reduced my work hours, made sure to sleep at least 7 hrs/day, and used the empathogen every 3 months. I also ended a very abusive relationship and later found my current healthy one with my wonderful, loving fiance. After 1 year of this, during an MRI the doctor told me he could no longer see any tumor. I saw a specialist (a big name in Europe, one of the top neurosurgeons) and he was stunned that a macro tumor that size had vanished without treatment. lol Naturally I didn't tell him what I'd done, given how much stigma still surrounds it, especially in academia. And 3 months after that, my period returned, following 12 years without it.

Even so, by now I've probably read and researched thousands of papers.
