INTRO Never imagined I'd end up in a place like this — yet I have hope. Thanks.

For decades I've been dealing with something that I now recognize as a metabolism problem. I'm in my mid 30s, 190cm tall, weigh about 185lbs — not overweight, but there's a persistent band of fat around my middle. Over the years I've tried vegan, raw vegan, pescatarian, whole food, and junk food approaches, and no matter what, the bloating and that layer sitting above my abs keeps coming back.

A year ago I went through an extended water fast while training full-time in a combat sport. When I started eating again, the bloating returned, and with some help from AI I finally started to suspect something inside me wasn't working right. I went deep into research, got checked for SIBO and IMO, and eventually looked at insulin. I picked up an over-the-counter CGM, and it turned out my carb response was completely messed up — excuse the language. Almost every meal built around 'standard' carbs sent me spiking past 200 and then crashing below 60. I reached out to my doctor, who ordered a medical-grade CGM, fasting insulin, and a metabolic panel. The results made it clear this had likely been going on for decades and explained why food has always been such a struggle for me.

I've been following keto / carnivore, but I really want to be able to enjoy foods from different cultures without being stuck on nothing but beef, butter, and water forever. I'm still learning, but I've come across some information suggesting a GLP might be able to help me. I don't know if that's accurate, but I'd love to find out, and if it is, get that support so I can thrive. My goals are to build muscle, shed the remaining layers of internal fat, and look like a Greek demigod. I'm thankful to anyone here who can help me finally move past this obstacle that's held me back for so long.

Thank you .

I spent many years avoiding anything to do with GLP, but eventually I sat down and properly researched it, saw how many advantages there are, and went for it...the smartest choice I've ever made. I never knew what it felt like to go through a day without food noise and cravings constantly nagging at me. What's wonderful about communities such as this one is that you'll almost certainly find others who are dealing with exactly what you are. Wishing you the best!

Hello, my own peptide path is only just starting. So much is out there to absorb, and for my part I'd like to get to know as much as I can prior to using any, though for learning this spot is 100% the right one. It's quite busy (a good thing) and packed with material at every level. Knowledge fills even a number of the answers inside this intro section. Best of luck!

That's great to know. I'm hoping

to find solid, healing information.

When I went fully ketogenic, the change in food noise caught me off guard — it was like day versus night. I've heard certain GLP medications may help restore insulin sensitivity. Has that been your experience?

When it comes to GLP's, I can't speak to any healing effects, though improved insulin sensitivity is among their greatest advantages. Blood sugar regulation is something they certainly assist with, but as with everything, halting use or falling back into previous routines means it will all return. What these peps offer is simply a means to reach your goals, and lasting results demand genuine lifestyle adjustments. Regularly assessing your situation, labs included, matters a great deal.
