Afternoon everyone, I go by Grem, a 35F based in the UK. My fitness and healthy lifestyle journey kicked off 3 weeks ago. So far I've dropped 11lb, been boosting my step count and doing a bit of at-home exercise, but today marked my first session at the gym. It's been roughly 15 years since I stuck with any kind of regular exercise.

Fitness has never been something that motivated me, and weight struggles, emotional eating and a lack of willpower to break bad habits have always been there. Combined with low self esteem and poor mental health, that got me to my heaviest ever. I honestly feel like I've turned a corner and am finally putting my health first. Reta has already been a help, and I truly believe it's the tool I needed to get on the right track. My attitude and lifestyle have shifted so much already and I'm hopeful I can sustain this. From eating to fuel my body, drinking more water, staying on top of daily chores, prioritising movement and exercise, and even taking my regular medication plus supplements at set times every day, I'm feeling really positive.

One worry I have is that this is just a phase and I'll eventually quit and slip back into unhealthy habits. So any motivation you can send my way is hugely appreciated.

My starting weight was 14st 1.4lb and I'm currently 13st 3.6lb. At the gym, lifting is my focus.

Lastly, I've spent the past three weeks eagerly researching peptides ahead of placing an order by the end of the month. I'm reading every day and putting together a plan.

My next post will probably be an update on how it's all going. If anyone with similar stats, goals or journeys wants to chat, please holla 💪

Grem, keep at it, don't throw in the towel !

Stay focused on the good things and the way your lifestyle is shifting.

My own exercise habit kicked off as a New Years resolution back when Covid hit (2019).

I told myself the same thing - that it would pass. And here I am, still going !

Truthfully though; 50% of my reason is health benefits and the other 50% is VANITY - the healthy kind 🙂

Stick with it — since beginning GLP1s, this has been the longest stretch I've ever managed with both dieting and the gym.

My starting point was 21st, and these days I'm sitting at about 15st. Building a routine has really worked for me: I train 4 or 5 times per week, waking at 5am so I'm in the gym by 5:30am. That way it's done early and I get a boost of energy for the whole day.

What kind of research are you doing, and what are you thinking of ordering? I've watched plenty of folks jump straight into peptides and buy tons of stuff they honestly don't require.

Hi Grrrem, was that 11lbs dropped while using a glp peptide, or did you manage it without one? If no peptide was involved, that's seriously impressive! Regardless, well done — that's a huge first step! Since your main goal right now seems to be losing weight, putting your effort into strength training at the gym is exactly the right call. If you can build up to 3x per week, you'll do brilliantly.

11lbs within 3 weeks — that's incredible, wow! Don't stop now!!! 💥

It seems the choice to make a change has already impacted your life in a big way.

That's brilliant, nice work! My original post was over 2 months ago, and honestly I can say that these days I LOVE heading to the gym.

The quiet, solo time I get for focusing on my health and mulling over the day is something I really enjoy. Watching my strength go up, muscle mass grow and cardio get better is Loooovely. That said, cardio ranks lowest for me and lifting is what it's all about.

Naturally, a bit of vanity is a nice little healthy push as well 😉

It truly has! Now at 3 months in, I've hit 33lbs altogether. My BMI shifted from obese to overweight, my blood pressure came down into normal range and I can lift far heavier weights than at the start 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

That's fantastic!! Genuinely inspiring. Getting up at 5am hasn't happened for me yet, but then again I never pictured myself as a gym girl either, so never say never. At the moment it's 4-5 times per week for me too, and I get antsy wondering when my next session is.

After looking into a few protocols, I've begun some. Right now I'm on a mitochondrial protocol using ss31, mots-c and NAD+. I'm hoping to add CJC/ipa before long and want to try the KLOW stack at some stage. Adding things in slowly is my approach, so I can judge tolerance, side effects and whether any positives are showing up too.

It came from the GLP-1. For years I'd been attempting diets and failing to lose weight. With the GLP-1, managing everything is far simpler: better food choices, no more wondering what to eat next, plenty of water. It's been a game changer for building a healthy lifestyle.

Wow, that's wonderful — congratulations! So more than 2 months have passed since I posted, and honestly I can say that going to the gym is something I LOVE now.

Naturally, the vanity side is a nice little healthy motivator as well 😉

For my own recovery after weight training, IPA and BCP 157 have worked incredibly well! Seeing progress at the gym and feeling healthier overall keeps me motivated! Keep going with your plan, Grem. You can do it!

As far as I understand it, the biggest factor behind people stopping GLPs is that the side effects become too much to handle. Since you've already made it through that stage, I'd say the odds of you quitting are quite small.

It's great that you're keeping up with your everyday chores. Many of us deal with anhedonia, and that "don't care" mindset can get in the way of getting things done. Well done on that!

For me it went the other way entirely — anhedonia did show up in other areas, but when it comes to staying on top of things, I now have far more energy for everyday life.

Goooood morning UK gang

Someone replied to this intro today, which reminded me it existed. So here's a quick update from me!

Almost 9 months have passed and I'm down 5st 5lb, weighing 8st 12.5lb as of today woohoo! Healthier than I've ever been, and the gym has stayed part of my routine. Strength training is something I genuinely LOVE now — I picked it up 1 month after starting reta, and just yesterday I did an arm session lasting 1.5h plus a 30m incline walk. Basically, the exercise stuck around and I have no plans to drop it.

My original goal of 9st 7lb has already been beaten, and the new target is 8st 9lb, which is the lightest I've been as an adult. Only 3.5lb left!! Might I move the goalposts again? Very possibly — there's still body fat I want gone, and if leaning out further is what it takes to show the muscle I've built, I may push on. Honestly though, once I hit target I think the focus shifts to building muscle and seeing where that takes me. For reference: 5ft 3inch, F.

Quite a few new peptides have been added along the way — ask if you're curious about those, or about what I did with reta. Always up for chatting side effects.

Some habits slipped here and there, but eating cleanly has happened most of the time.

Supplements have been their own journey too. A blood test would be great to see where everything stands, but a wedding is currently being paid for, so that's a Nov consideration.

What about the rest of you?? Newbie in the room? Or deep into your health journey? I want to hear it all.

Hi everyone, my journey hasn't exactly gone smoothly. I've given Mounjaro a go around 3 times, and each time I reach roughly the beginning of 7.5 and end up with the most awful sickness, stuck in bed for 5 days without a break. After that, the idea of another injection..... no way!

I'm 22st and feeling really depressed. I have to, I need to, lose weight, my mobility is terrible, and the injections cost so much. I still have an old pen sitting in my fridge and last week I injected 5mg, my appetite disappeared, then this week after injecting it came back just like normal! What the hell! Should I try injecting a bit more?

I've been thinking about buying grey, I've looked into adding water etc., and it doesn't seem too difficult.

Right now I'm looking into buying and bitcoin for payments

Any encouragement or any suggestions on how to manage side effects would be a huge help
